Easy Apple Crisp

Apple crisp is one of my favorite go-to desserts to make because its EASY! *Full disclosure: you will be cooking with the two best spatulas you have: your hands.* The ingredient list is at the bottom of the page, which I suggest reading prior to making this. Your end result will look something delicious like this:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Start with 5 large Granny Smith apples, or 6 medium size ones. Peel, core, and slice apples all about the same size (about 1/8" thick, see picture below). This is so it will bake evenly.

Place apples in 9" x 13" glass baking dish, set aside.
In medium size bowl, whisk your granulated sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, and flour until combined. Pour into the baking dish with apples and toss together to coat apples.

In another medium size bowl, WITH HANDS mix together flour, brown sugar, 2 tsp cinnamon, and  cut in SOFTENED butter (not melted!). Mixture with be crumb-like, and butter should be pea sized. Sprinkle over apples - they should be covered with mixture.

Bake, uncovered, for 40-45 minutes or until apples are soft (I put a fork in one and eat it juuuuust to make sure). Place on a wire cooling rack. Your house will smell like heaven.

Let cool 30 minutes if you want it warm with vanilla ice cream! I would definitely recommend it. When done stuffing your face, cover with plastic wrap for later.
